Coach Ricky Speaks at Gardner and Webb University
Earlier this month Ricky Price, President and Founder of Game Ready Skills and Development Training Ricky Price took the time to speak to 500 Students at Gardner and Webb University. Coach Ricky shared the Game Ready Pillars to Success and how he used them to become a High School All American, to a college graduate, to a professional basketball ball player, to the President of Game Ready Skills and Development Training. Students were locked in on Coach Price’s every word as he told shared stories about his career as a basketball player and the pitfalls he experienced along his journey to becoming one of the nation’s best trainers. Many thanks to Gardner and Webb University for allowing us to visit your campus and show your students what it means to be “Game Ready”. Game Ready Highlight
During the basketball season we like to highlight our clients that are making a difference for their school ball team. This month’s Game Ready Highlight goes to Seth Aeschliman. Seth is a junior at Lake Norman High School and is in the midst of putting together a solid season! As team captain, Seth leads his team with 9 rebounds and 2 steals per game while being 2nd in scoring at 12.5 points per game. He has been sizzling the last 4 games averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds including a 25 point outburst vs North Meck. Not only has he excelled on the basketball court, but he is exceptional in the classroom with a 4.2 GPA in all honors classes. Seth has been training consistently with Game Ready for the last year. He is just another example of what happens when focus meets preparation. Good luck Seth the rest of the way and remember to shoot 1st and ask questions later
Honoring Kobe
February is home to Black History Month as we honor many of the great African American who have paved the way in our great country. This month we lost one of the greatest players of all time and true ambassadors to the Global game of basketball. Kobe Bryant died tragically in a helicopter crash along with 8 other passengers including his daughter Giana Bryant. Kobe was one of the All-time greats averaging 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assist for his career including being one of the top 5 scorers in NBA history, a 5 time NBA champion, and putting up the 2nd best single scoring games in NBA history scoring 81 points in one game. The news shook the core of the world of sports and forced people to re think who and what is truly important in Life. The news was equally devastating to Coach Ricky who is a California Native and grew up a Laker Fan. Coach Price said “Kobe was easily my favorite player of all time as It felt like I grew up with him as I watched his incredible career unfold playing for my favorite team. I am devastated that he is no longer with us”. The NBA mourned his loss with countless memorials throughout the league including a heartfelt tribute before the 2020 NBA All Star Game. As Black History Month surges on we should remember Kobe as being a great father, a great basketball player, and a worldwide ambassador for the game of basketball. Message from the Coach
“Charlotte has been home to me for over 10 years. People have always asked me to do a basketball camp and now the time has finally come to make it a reality. It’s time to share my knowledge of the game with today’s youth. I feel obligated to help any and everybody who loves this game as much as I do. Through Game Ready Skills and Development I hope to give back to the Charlotte Community in more ways than one. I hope to inspire every boy and girl that trains with us, so they can become the player they always dreamed of.”
Ricky Price
